Dougie came into rescue after his family in a Northern remote community, had to evacuate due to fires in the community and were not able to take their pets with them. He had been free roaming with little training, so he was placed into a board and train for 5 weeks to work on some skills and some leash reactivity. Dougie made huge improvements and requires a family that will continue practising his new skills. He is a high energy boy that really loves to play ball, and enjoys his long trail walks. Due to his exuberance, we do not recommend a home with young children. Dougie’s wish list is someone who is active and looking for a buddy to join in on hikes. He prefers a quieter environment which is less stimulating to him with room to run and stretch his very long legs. A dedication to on-going training is required to keep working on his newfound skills.
